v0.26.0 — Editorial reading & shared layout modes

Continues the SPEC-094 theme-platform arc by settling the two capability gaps it deferred: the reading register for body text (the last reserved §8 candidate) and the promotion of carousel from a gallery-coupled behavior to a canonical layout mode any rune can opt into. Where v0.23.0 governed a rune's container (elevation/prominence/width), this milestone reaches inside it — how the running text reads, and how homogeneous items lay out.

Container-query beside-layout collapse (split.css) + preview frame container

The follow-up WORK-489 explicitly deferred: convert the shared split.css beside→stack collapse from @media (global viewport) to @container (the rune's available width), and make the preview viewport frame a query container so the collapse is faithfully simulable in the responsive preview selector. Motivated by the feature doc page — its media-beside examples (media-position="start"/"end") couldn't carry a viewport selector because their collapse is @media-gated and the preview frame is width-only.
